Cloud 9 Philippines is listed in the Top 10 surfing break worldwide. This has been the annual venue of Siargao Cup Surfing Competition being joined by local and international surfers. Along with the popularity of the place, it is greatly influenced by winds directly from Pacific Ocean. Everyone is encouraged to visit Cloud 9 Siargao from September until March and November to December as this is when the surfing season occurs.
Travelling in a shoestring budget is not a problem! Surfing here is cheap, cheaper than any other surfing destinations in the world. You can either rent a surf board or hire an instructor in any Philippine surfing spot for as low as Php200/hour roughly around $5 for board rental and just an additional Php200/hour or $5 for an instructor. Transportation is also cheap, you can almost reach any surfing destination by land via Bus or Private Car. Some surfing spots are only 4-5 hours from Manila like San Antonio or San Felipe in Zambales where the bus fare is less than Php300 or roughly $6 to get there. We have affordable lodges, inns and budget hotels along the coasts for surfing backpackers. Fan and air-conditioned rooms or beachfront nipa huts are available online for advance booking. There are also classy resorts at an average rate furnished with amenities like kitchen and dining utensils. Swimming pools, water sports & beach activities can be also enjoyed at an affordable rate.
